R&D Background Story

Our nutrition consultant, Jessica, has very sensitive skin. When she worked as a nutrition instructor in Taiwan 20+ years ago, she travelled around the whole country because of her work. Over the course of ten months, while she taught over one hundred classes, Jessica repeatedly ate out and putting on makeups were her daily routine. As the result, Jessica suffered breakouts all over her skin and inflammation and sores around the lips started developing. From using lip balm to visiting doctors, none of them seemed to work.  Even talking became painful to her. The next step she took was to stop eating out. She started making her own meals throughout the day; and on top of it, she added in the natural supplements and plenty of sleep. A few months later, her inflamed lips and skin had gone back to normal, and the lips returned to the normal pinky color!

Although she had healed the skin and lip problems, these problems still reoccurred every time she ate out over two meals, or every time she consumed over burned food or food containing hydrogenated oils or MSG. Once these foods had been consumed, her lips would signal out by swelling up and burning. She found out that her lips are extremely sensitive, and they are sensitive enough to be the indicators for toxic food items! At the same time, Jessica also found out that the average lip balms and lip colorings on the market are all toxic!

Beauty and the health...Sometimes you can’t have them both. However, for health purposes and the beauty needs, Jessica spent her spare time working on developing natural, non-toxic lip balm, with great healing powers. Q1. How do I store the natural lip balms?

The naturally hand-made Camellia lip balm is highly oxidative; please store it under the shades and with cool temperature. If it is opened and not used for a period of time, store it in the refrigerator and simply take it out when required. Avoid storing in high temperature (ie. In the car), this would prevent oxidation. It is the best to finish within 1 year. If there’s any rancid smell, discard it immediately.

Q2. How to select the right lip balms?

Before you purchase, you should read the labels carefully, whether it is the foods or skincare you’re choosing.   Avoid petrol byproducts and other chemical additives. Hand-made lip balms are usually made in the household, using the simplest ingredients and rarely has additives. The quality can be guaranteed and provides no harm to your health!

Q3. Can I use the Orange Lip Balm on other areas of my skin?

Yes of course! The Camellia Lip Balm has lots of good oils, for example: the natural jojoba oil is highly moisturizing, and it can efficiently make your skin hydrated and soft. Camellia oil has natural healing powers. It is antibacterial and protects your skin. Also, the unrefined palm oil contains plenty of vitamin A that helps rejuvenate the skin. The natural vitamin E can soothe the fine lines and wrinkles, it is a very powerful anti-aging nutrient.
