The Story Behind The Root Silk & Flag Making
On October 25, 2022, I had a dream about a truck that dropped a large box of goods. The box had opened, revealing rolls of fabric spilling out. These fabrics were soft and delicate, like silk or chiffon, and decorated with lace—fine materials seemingly meant for making gowns. I tried to return the fabric to its owner, but the truck drove away. As I unfolded some of the loose fabric, I noticed the rolls remained untouched. My husband suggested we mail it back, but I asked him, "Where to?" He said he didn’t know. In the dream, I wondered, “Could this be for me?” Then I woke up.
Upon waking, I prayed, asking God what He wanted to tell me through this dream. Immediately, I felt in my heart that God was giving me these fabrics. Through the dream, I realized that He had sent a heavenly truck filled with materials meant for me—fabric to make garments for the Bride of Christ, the warrior bride. This dream affirmed that God wanted me to create prophetic worship flags to inspire more people to worship Him.
Earlier, on August 25, 2022, I had another dream. After praying about it, I understood that God was calling me to worship Him through flag dancing, even though I didn’t know how at the time. After the October 25 dream, I began dyeing silk flags in large quantities. I created vibrant floral flags, angel wings in various designs, 3-meter-long flags, and flowing long banners—all colorful and captivating silk creations. I started practicing flag dancing in a dance studio. Though I was uncoordinated and had no dance background, I began to dance freely, recording many videos to share on YouTube. Eventually, I started teaching flag dancing at a gym, becoming a flag dance instructor.
Simultaneously, I began taking custom orders for worship flags from flag-dancing enthusiasts. All proceeds were donated to the Root of Jesse Ministry, a non-profit organization founded in California in 2021, recognized as a 501(c)(3) by the IRS. The ministry focuses on promoting holistic health—body, mind, and spirit.
With a background in nutrition and certification as a fitness coach from the American College of Sports Medicine, I have spent years helping clients restore their health through nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyles. I advocate for five essential pillars of health: nutrition, exercise, detoxification, sleep, and stress relief. These elements are interconnected and indispensable.
However, over the years, I’ve realized that true health goes beyond the physical—it requires balance and healing in body, mind, and spirit. Some health challenges demand deeper inner healing and spiritual release.
In my search for an activity that nurtures holistic health, I finally found it in flag dancing. This dance form is unlike traditional dance—it’s spontaneous, requires no choreography or memorization, and welcomes anyone, regardless of skill level. Inspired by music and guided by the heart, flag dancing brings out the innocence of a child. My mission is to awaken the dancer within every individual—the little girl or boy inside them.
I thank God for opening the door to worship through dance and inspiring me to develop a teaching system for flag dancing. This system is not about rigid instructions but about inspiring freedom to dance one’s unique “Dance of Life” and “Dance of Health.”
Many flag-dancing enthusiasts, including my friends, often purchase flags online. When they learned I could make flags, they were amazed at how effortlessly my handmade flags moved, how comfortable the handles were, and how beautifully and gracefully the flags danced. They regretted spending money on flags that looked appealing online but were impractical to use.
